Vishnu R. Dusad is the CEO and managing director of Nucleus Software, a company that develops and provides software solutions to the banking and financial services industry. Its products include solutions for retail banking, corporate banking, credit cards, Internet banking and cash management.

Every human being has a dream. My dream or vision is to do something meaningful. God has been kind to me, providing me with the unflinching support of my colleagues who have shown persistence and perseverance, putting heart and soul into their work. It is this persistence, perseverance and thought that has made all the difference, and has fuelled my dream to walk in the global arena together, creating an open and warm environment where each team member is respected, heard and encouraged to excel.

I endeavour to create a work culture that ensures every individual is learning and growing at an ongoing basis, so that we are able to create an organisation that delivers value to all its stakeholders for decades to come. Our mission is to be a dependable world-class company that fosters the spirit of entrepreneurship within the organisation through individual development, which will, in turn, work towards establishing India's place in the intellectual property right-led business.

I firmly believe that success brings with it the simplest of qualities - humility. I draw my inspiration from Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahansa, for it is they who have really explained the way to lead life through personal example.

For 22 years, since Nucleus Software's inception, I have been part of this exciting journey and during this time, life has presented interesting challenges at regular intervals. But one challenge that I looked at as an opportunity -- and can today proclaim as an achievement -- is sustaining the product focus during the initial years. Our transformation from a regular revenue and high profitability software services business in 1996 to a business involving substantial investment and uncertainty of revenue was a huge challenge. However, thanks to the support and encouragement of my colleagues and the guidance from the board of directors, we were successful.

My aim now is to take Nucleus to the next level of growth to transform it to a learning and value delivering company, and to bring the Nucleus brand closer to our customers. My dream is to add value to our customers and to society at large, from benefiting 25,000 people - in the first year of our product going live 11 years back to touching 25 million lives today. It's overwhelming to know our solution has helped deliver not only those millions of loans, but those many million dreams. Gearing up to make a difference and raising the bar on excellence, I aspire to eradicate the poverty from the bottom of the pyramid. It is this possibility of bringing a smile to millions that is my strong motivating factor.
